Emileigh

Emileigh has the honor of being our first “tattoo story” participant. We’ll be adding many more, but here’s her story. (Actually, two in this case.)

Story 1:

“Choosing my most meaningful tattoo was a very easy decision to make. This piece is a memorial tattoo for my Dad, Sherman. The cardinal was one of his favorite birds and I think of him when I see them. Roses were always his favorite, and he planted them all around our yard. The tattoo artist and I decided to only include his birth and death year; anyone who knows me, doesn’t have to ask who it’s for. He leaves behind a legacy comprised of empathy, genuine kindness, unconditional acceptance, service and to make the most of our time on Earth. “

Story 2:
“One of my other most meaningful tattoos is a birdcage piece that symbolizes freedom from addiction. I have battled with addiction for 28 years, and this tattoo reminds me of how beautiful it feels to be free from the grips of addiction. The sparrows symbolize finding the key that helps break free of this vicious cycle, and hopefully being an example for others. I don’t forget what it feels like to be dead on the inside, trapped in misery. Today I have 6 years clean from drugs and alcohol, so there’s always hope.”
